Make it last

Cone care & aftercare

The info that comes with every order — keep it handy.

Cone care

To keep your cones fresh and ready for the best stain results, follow these care tips:

  • Store cones in the freezer as soon as possible after receiving them
  • Frozen cones can stay fresh for up to 6 months when stored properly
  • Before use, allow frozen cones to thaw at room temperature for 20–30 minutes
  • Keep cones away from direct heat or sunlight
  • Do not microwave or heat the cone to speed up thawing
  • Gently roll or massage the cone before use to ensure there is no oil separation
  • If the cone has been previously opened, massaging it before use is especially helpful
  • Cut a very small opening at the tip for thicker lines and better control, especially for beginners
  • After finishing your design, re-pin the cone securely
  • Return unused cones to the freezer as soon as possible to maintain freshness

Henna aftercare

These steps are optional, but following them will help you achieve the darkest, richest, and longest-lasting stain possible. Everyone's skin develops henna differently, but proper aftercare can make a huge difference. For best results:

  • Leave the henna paste on for a minimum of 4–6 hours
  • For the deepest stain possible, leave the paste on overnight
  • Try to keep the area warm while the paste dries and sets
  • Once dry, gently dab a mixture of lemon juice and sugar onto the design
  • This helps the paste stay attached to the skin longer and supports stain development
  • After the paste is fully dry, steam cloves on the design for 5–10 minutes
  • Heat and light steam help encourage deeper dye release
  • The longer the paste stays warm and slightly moist, the more time the stain has to deepen
  • Wrap the design with tissue paper and/or medical tape overnight to help protect the design and prevent smudging
  • When removing the paste, it's best to avoid water — gently scrape it off instead
  • Apply a natural oil afterward to help remove any remaining residue and protect the stain
  • Avoid water, exfoliants, chlorine, and harsh soaps for the first 24 hours
  • This helps keep the stain darker and longer lasting as it continues to develop over the next 24–48 hours
